Press Release Summary: 378 Consulting Group demonstrated one of their core beliefs of serving their community by volunteering their time, energy and muscle to the "Build a Playground in a Day" project resulting in a new playground for Atlanta Public School, M. Agnes Jones Elementary.
Press Release Body: 378 Consulting Group (378), a strategic one-source consulting group for churches and ministries headquartered in Atlanta (www.378consulting.com/about.htm), spent a day helping to build a new playground for M. Agnes Jones Elementary, an Atlanta Public School on Thursday, October 16, 2008. Some of the partners and associates of 378 volunteered their time, energy and muscle to the Build a Playground in a Day initiative organized by KaBOOM! a national non-profit organization that has led over 1,500 playground construction projects across America since 1995.
"Participating in this project was so much more than the term 'rewarding' can describe," says Lea Griggs, 378's VP of Marketing. "Community service is a major heart string for 378. As a Christian company it's extremely important that we demonstrate our core beliefs and be an example of what we teach and expect of our clients. In a nutshell, we practice what we preach."
"Being invited to participate in the Build a Playground in a Day project was a unique and personally rewarding opportunity," says Brian Clark of Media-Go-Round, a 378 Associate. "When 378 approached us about an opportunity to help the community, it was a quick and easy decision to make. The biggest reward was seeing smiles from ear-to- ear and eyes wide open with excitement on all the precious little faces of those children. Media-Go-Round has participated in numerous 378 events in the past year, but Build a Playground in a Day was one that will last a lifetime!"
In about six hours the 200 volunteers built four picnic tables, four Mendocino benches, a shade structure, an outdoor classroom, four planter boxes, a stage and stepping stones. We also planted a pizza garden, moved 150 cubic yards of mulch and hand mixed 19,000 lbs. of cement. The students pitched in by painting a large 4'x6' map of the United States, four-squares and hopscotch on the driveway. The result was one beautiful playground for M. Agnes Jones Elementary School and the sounds of "Wow" from many happy children. Visit www.378consulting.com/pressroom.htm to view pictures. Amanda Bernard from KaBOOM! commented, "It's people like you all [378] who are truly the spirit of 'community'!"
